Terms of Service

Welcome to Bloom (bloomhr.ai), operated by 18098603 Canada Inc. ("Bloom," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Bloom, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, if you're using Bloom for a company, on behalf of that company (together, "you"). If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Bloom is

Bloom is an AI recruitment engine for employers. It reviews job applications against the requirements you define, scores them with cited evidence, and organizes candidates so your team can decide faster and better. You can run your hiring on Bloom directly (including Bloom-hosted careers pages), or connect Bloom to the applicant tracking system you already use (e.g., Ashby), where Bloom reads applications and writes its recommendations back into your system.

2. Recommendations, not decisions — an honest description of the AI

Much of what Bloom shows you is generated by AI: match scores, evidence summaries, suggested placements, and proposals. Being straightforward about what that means:

  • Bloom recommends; your team decides. Bloom never advances, rejects, hires, or eliminates a candidate on its own authority. Every consequential action on a candidate happens because a person at your company took it or confirmed it.
  • Scores are informed estimates, not verdicts. A score is Bloom's evidence-cited read of an application against your criteria. It can be wrong. It's designed to be checked — the evidence is shown precisely so your team can verify it.
  • You own your hiring process and its compliance. You are responsible for your hiring decisions and for meeting the legal obligations that apply to your hiring process in your jurisdictions — including any required notices or disclosures about the use of automated tools in hiring.

3. Your account

You must be authorized to act for the company you register. Keep credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. Give Bloom accurate information — the quality of its recommendations depends on the quality of the role requirements you define.

4. Candidate data — our processing commitments to you

When candidate personal information flows through Bloom, we process it as your service provider, and we commit to the following:

  • We process candidate data only on your instructions and only to provide the service to you.
  • Candidate data is walled to your organization — never pooled with, shown to, or used for any other customer.
  • We never sell candidate data and never use it to train AI models (ours or our providers').
  • Our subprocessors and where they process data are listed in our Privacy Policy; we remain responsible for their handling of your data.
  • We apply the security measures described in our Privacy Policy, including encryption of integration credentials at rest.
  • On termination or on your instruction, we delete candidate data as described in the Privacy Policy, and we will act on candidate rights requests you forward to us.
  • If we become aware of a breach of security affecting your candidate data, we will notify you without undue delay.

5. Connecting your hiring system

If you connect an ATS, you confirm you're authorized to do so for your company. Bloom will request the minimum permissions it needs and will tell you, in plain language, why each is needed. Bloom acts in your ATS only as you configure it — in particular, Bloom moves candidates between stages only according to a stage mapping you have explicitly confirmed, and it stops when you tell it to stop.

6. Acceptable use

Don't: attempt to access other organizations' data; use Bloom to harass, discriminate against, or mislead anyone; upload content you don't have the right to use; probe, disrupt, or reverse engineer the service; use Bloom for any unlawful purpose, including unlawful employment practices. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Fees

Current pricing is provided in your order or agreement. If we introduce or change paid plans, we'll present pricing clearly before you're charged and update these terms.

8. Your content and ours

You keep ownership of everything you provide — your roles, criteria, configurations, and your candidates' data. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service (including AI processing as described in the Privacy Policy). Bloom and its software, models of operation, and branding are ours.

9. Availability and changes

Bloom is a young product and improves constantly. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We aim for high availability but don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Termination

You can stop using Bloom at any time and ask us to delete your account and data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination we will, on request, provide an export of your data in a reasonable format before deletion.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, 18098603 Canada Inc. disclaims all implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including hiring decisions made in reliance on AI-generated recommendations, which remain your decisions. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of $500 CAD or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that applicable law gives you that cannot be waived.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the date above, and announce significant changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use Bloom after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
